Preparing for the GMAT

GMAT Basics
Graduate school is becoming more and more competitive. Merely having an undergraduate degree is no longer enough; everyone is looking for a way to differentiate themselves. As the bar is raised, admissions standards are becoming increasingly difficult and acceptance at the right school is especially important. This is why preparing for your GMAT exam is more important than you may think.

What is the GMAT?
The GMAT stands for the Graduate Management Admissions Test which is widely used in the graduate business school admission process. The GMAT is considered one way of predicting academic performance in the first year of a graduate business program by measuring basic verbal, mathematical and analytical writing skills that you have developed over a long period of time in your education and work.

In cities around the United States, and in most countries, you will take the GMAT at a testing center on a computer. Testing centers generally offer the test several days per week. You will find out what days and times are available at your chosen test center when you register.
