Daniels Entrepreneurship Society

"Learn to think on the fly while operating on the ground."

The Daniels Entrepreneurship Society seeks to mold tomorrow's business leaders today, to create a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, and to develop excellence in our members. The society holds biweekly meetings featuring world-class entrepreneurs--allowing students to learn from and network with the best--as well as facilitating a student-run business and business plan competitions.

We were formed in late spring 2005 at California Pizza Kitchen in Cherry Creek, when Seth, Lacey, and Nathan went out for the evening after a full day of skiing in the Rocky Mountains. Seth came up with the idea of starting DES while eating some pizza. Suddenly, Nathan and Lacey became Executive Officers and the entrepreneurial ideas were flying across the table. By the end of the meal, we had a vision that we wanted to share with the DU student body, which was the birth of the only licensed business club at its time, DES.
