The strategic planning process in total is spanning eight months. In broad strokes, the schedule is:
July–August
- Kick off process at management retreat
- Organize and make assignments
- Begin research and information gathering
September–November
- Continue to carry out research, surveys and interviews
- Begin work on strategic area operational plans
- Conduct competitive market analysis
- Present research findings and implications
December–February
- Review strategic area operational plans and merge into overarching goals
- Begin drafting the strategic plan
- Hold vision and mission workshop with Daniels community
- Make decisions on brand positioning and message development
March
- Publish strategic plan
- Begin resourcing for first year of action plans through the budget development process
