Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the benefit of taking the program for academic credit?
If you are planning to back to graduate school to get a full degree, you may want to transfer the credits for this program into the degree program. If you anticipate that in your future, you should take the program for credit.  You will only be able to transfer academic credit to a degree program.

I don’t need academic credit, but I would like to get CEU’s for the program—is that possible?
Yes, we can grant CEU credits (80 hours/8 units) for the program—either way you choose to take the program (non-credit or for-credit).

What will the weeks of class time look like for me?
Class will start at 8 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Please plan on spending the whole day on campus. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided on class days. Several short breaks will be offered throughout the day.

What type of time commitment is there in the interval period (between classroom weeks)?
You will be working on a work-related project during the interval as well as some readings and case studies. Students may choose to set up appointments with faculty and attend an optional Wellness/Life Balance session on campus, but are not required to come to campus at any point during that time.

I have been to the University of Denver and know that parking is permitted in many areas—how will I park on campus for the program?
Parking permits for a close-by parking garage will be provided for the weeks that you ned to be on-campus.

Are there exams, papers or presentations?
There will be reflective papers, some case study write-ups, financial exercises and possibly a group presentation. Students who are not taking the program for credit will not be graded, but will be given feedback from the faculty. Students who are taking the program for credit will be required to demonstrate mastery of the content and will be graded. Expectations of all participants will be high and the content of the program will be the same.

My HR department tells me that they do not have the budget to send me to the program. Is there another way?
Depending on your company’s policies, you may be eligible to use tuition reimbursement benefits.

The weeks/days of the program don’t work for me. Will you be offering another program like this?
We plan to offer the program several times during the year. The next block session will be offered September 15-19 and November 10-14. The next alternating Friday/Saturday will be decided soon. Please contact Becca.Mahoney@du.edu if you are interested in finding out the dates of the next alternating schedule.
