How to apply for financial aid.

The priority deadline for applying for financial aid is March 1 for new graduate students and April 1 for continuing graduate students. Because financial aid funds are limited, students who complete their financial aid applications in a timely manner are more likely to maximize financial aid resources. Funding for certain awards may not be available as time passes.

Undergraduates: Please visit the University of Denver's Office of Financial Aid for information on applying for financial aid.

Steps for graduate students applying for financial aid:

  1. Apply for admission to the Daniels College of Business (if not already admitted): We cannot process your financial aid application until you are officially admitted to Daniels.
  2. Apply for a US Department of Education PIN: If you have a PIN from a previous year, please use that.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): All students requesting need-based assistance must complete a FAFSA using their PIN from step 2. The school code for the University of Denver is 001371.
  4. Review your Student Aid Report (SAR): You should receive a SAR three to six weeks after submitting your FAFSA. Review your SAR for accuracy and make any necessary corrections. Your SAR may indicate that you need to provide verification of the information reported on the FAFSA. The University of Denver, Office of Financial Aid will notify you of the additional information needed to process your application.
  5. Accept your financial aid award: The University of Denver, Office of Financial Aid will use the information on your FAFSA to determine your eligibility for financial assistance and send you an email when your award is available. You can view your award information on myWeb and accept or decline the awards offered to you through the website.
  6. Plan ahead and think long term: Depending on when you complete the financial aid application process, funds may or may not be available to you at the time your tuition bill is due or other educational expenses arise. Have some financial resources available to cover such expenses. Also, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress in your course of study to keep your financial aid. If you withdraw from classes or change your enrollment, your financial aid package may be affected.
