Am I eligible for financial aid?
Eligibility depends upon the need and/or merit of each individual.

When should I apply?
The FAFSA is available January 1 for the following academic year. Apply early because financial aid is awarded on a funds-available basis. Merit-based scholarships and assistantships from Daniels are awarded upon acceptance of your application; therefore, you are encouraged to apply early.
Which financial aid REQUIRES the FAFSA?
Several types of financial aid require a completed FAFSA. We recommend that all students complete the FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov in case such assistance is needed. The application process for financial aid typically takes four to six weeks, so do not wait to be admitted before submitting the FAFSA.
The following types of aid require the FAFSA:
- Federal Direct Loans (U.S. citizens)
The following levels of federal assistance are available:
- Subsidized loan: $8,500 maximum--need based
- Unsubsidized loan: $12,000 maximum
- No financial need: $20,500 is unsubsidized
- Perkins Loan -- Need & Merit Based (U.S. citizens)
- Up to $6,000 per year. This is a subsidized loan with a low interest rate.
- Daniels College of Business Scholarship -- Need & Merit Based
- $1000 to $4,000 per year. The award amount is based on student GMAT score, GPA and financial need.
- Graduate Work-Study -- Need Based (U.S. citizens)
- Positions are available throughout the Daniels College of Business for graduate students who have financial need as determined by the FAFSA form. The average salary is $11.50/hour, 8 hours per week.
Which financial aid does NOT require the FAFSA?
The following assistance does not require you to complete the FAFSA:
- Graduate Scholarships -- Merit Based
- $2,000 to $18,000 per year depending upon which scholarship is awarded, and on the student's academic performance, work experience and community service.
- Graduate Assistantships -- Merit Based
- A limited number of Graduate Assistantships are available at Daniels. The assistantships include both a tuition waiver and a small stipend. Selection is based on merit and previous work experience. International students may be considered. Daniels will contact applicants chosen to interview for these positions.
