International Student Pre-Orientation Evaluation

Discover Daniels link to Degrees and MajorsAll international students are required to attend the International Student Pre-Orientation and Daniels New Student Orientation Conferences. During International Student Pre-Orientation, any international student who has not completed the Graduate Preparation Program (GPP) and whose native language is not English will go through a comprehensive evaluation of English writing and speaking skills. This process is separate from testing required for admission to Daniels.

As a result of this evaluation, students may need to enroll in one or both of the GPP courses (Writing Workshop and Speaking Workshop), each consisting of 10 hours of instruction per week. With this additional instruction load, most students only enroll in only one or two Daniels courses their first quarter. Because this could delay a student's program completion, we strongly encourage applicants to enroll in GPP courses one quarter prior to beginning graduate studies.
