Biography-at-a-Glance
Sam Cassidy is a clinical professor in the Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies at Daniels as well as director of the College's Voices of Experience Speaker Series. He has practiced and taught business law for 33 years. His entrepreneurial experience began when he started his own oil and gas company, which he operated for 26 years. He was elected to the Colorado Senate where he rose to the position of Minority Leader after serving two years and was appointed Lt. Governor after four years. He was president and chairman of the Economic Developers Council of Colorado and president and CEO of the Jefferson Economic Council until hired as president and CEO of the State Chamber of Commerce in 1997. He was appointed to serve as the first chairman of the Department of Business Ethics and Legal Studies, Daniels College of Business.
When working with the media, Cassidy is able to address issues from both an academic and practical perspective, drawing on extensive corporate and political experience to provide real-world examples of the topics he discusses.
