What brought you to Daniels?
I decided on Daniels for my graduate studies for a number of reasons. The program is strong, with excellent faculty and a rich history. Additionally, the focus on ethics and sustainable business are very important to me. I grew up in the mountains, so living in a fair-sized city right up against the Rockies, and therefore plenty of outdoor fun, was also a big draw. The clincher was visiting the school; everyone I spoke with made me feel that Daniels was a place where I’d feel welcome and encouraged to develop myself.
A little about your experience at Daniels thus far:
So far Daniels has been great for three primary reasons. First, the academic environment at Daniels has provided me with a great deal of freedom to flex mental and creative muscles that the working world often doesn’t allow for. While no program can be perfect, the coursework is for the most part rigorous and stimulating. In the areas that need improvement, the faculty and staff are by and large open to constructive criticism and new ideas. Second, there are countless opportunities to get involved outside of class at Daniels, with the greater DU campus, and with the business community in Denver and points distant. I recently returned from a CIAO trip to China that was enriching in more ways than I can count. The third, and extremely important, piece of my Daniels experience has been meeting, and becoming close friends with, a fantastic group of people. Typically in a new work or scholastic environment one finds a handful of like-minded people to pass the time with. Daniels has been different. When I sit down and count up all of the superb relationships I have developed with students, faculty, and staff, I realize just what an incredible place Daniels is. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions. We look forward to meeting you!
