Biography At-a-Glance
Kenneth Leung started his own economic consultancy in 2008 and has been consulting with Western Union. He has also been teaching
economics and multinational finance at Daniels as an adjunct professor since 2010.
Kenneth joined First Data Corp in 2002 and was its Chief Economist until KKR purchased the company in 2007. At Western Union
and First Data Corp, he analyzed risks and opportunities arising from changes in economic, regulatory and market conditions
to assist in business and strategic planning.
Before coming to Denver in 2002, Kenneth had spent 20 years as an economist/analyst in major global financial institutions
including Bank of America, Bankers Trust, and Deutsche Bank. His career spanned major financial centers such as New York,
Tokyo, and Hong Kong. He prepared macroeconomic and industry analyses on Asian countries to support the institutions' corporate
finance, private equity, funds management, sales and trading, and credit risk management. He enabled the launch of the first
two leveraged-loan and high-yield financing deals in Japan by providing analysis on targeted industries and companies. He
made frequent client visits and conference presentations around the world to promote the banks' marketing and sales activities.
