Ms. Sarah Lonowski

Daniels Ambassador
Master of Business Administration, Healthcare Policy . .

Program, Year (1st, 2nd), and Concentration:

Master’s in Business Administration (dual degree), concentration in Healthcare Policy

Where are you from and what were you doing before you came to Daniels?

I am a Colorado native from Fort Collins, CO.  I received my undergraduate degree from DU with majors in International Studies and Spanish and minors in Biology, Chemistry, and Leadership Studies.  While completing my undergraduate degrees I also completed internships at the Boettcher Foundation and the Doctor’s Care medical clinic in Littleton.  I also had the opportunity to study abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Extracurricular activities that you are involved with:

In addition to my position as a Student Ambassador, I am a dual degree representative for the Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA).  I also volunteer at the University of Colorado Hospital and recently joined Team Daniels for intramural sports.  Other than that, I enjoy yoga and all of the outdoor activities Colorado has to offer including hiking, biking, running, and skiing.

What brought you to Daniels?

As I was completing my undergraduate degree, I decided to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, likely Public Health or healthcare administration.  I realized that in such a complex and rapidly changing industry, a background in business would be extremely valuable.  So, I applied to the Daniels College of Business.  The dual degree program offered at Daniels made allowed me to jump into graduate classes during the spring of my senior year.

A little about your experience at Daniels thus far:

So far so good!  Despite my lack of business background, I feel that I have quickly become integrated into the Daniels community.  The professors are extremely engaging and quickly become invested in students’ success.  I look forward to continued opportunities to learn, network, and get involved.
