Mary Medley joined the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants in 1974 and has worked in continuing education, legislative affairs, public relations, community and member services, career education, scholarship programs, fundraising and chapter development during her tenure. As president and CEO, Medley represents the organization of more than 8,800 members and leads the organization's operations.

Medley was named one of Accounting Today magazine's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of topics, including professional issues, business writing, presentation skills and business etiquette. Medley serves on the boards of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) foundation, the University of Northern Colorado's School of Accounting advisory board, and has served as president of the board of the CPA Society Executives Association and on the AICPA's strategic planning committee and operations committee.
