Ms. Christy Hotard Rosenfeld

Daniels Ambassador
International Master of Business Administration, Values Based Leadership

. .

Program, Year (1st, 2nd), and Concentration:
International MBA, 1st year, Sustainability and Values Based Leadership

Where are you from and what were you doing before you came to Daniels?

I am originally from San Antonio, Texas but came to Colorado to earn my undergrad degree. After graduating from Western State College of Colorado, I spent 3 years living in Washington, DC, working within the non-profit sector.   Eventually I succumbed to the desire to travel and work abroad, so I joined the US Peace Corps and volunteered two years in the Republic of South Africa.  I was partnered with a local non-government organization (NGO) dedicated to helping orphans and vulnerable children.  Two years in South Africa was not enough, so I stayed and consulted for various NGO’s, mainly facilitating workshops for community members and empowering them to create community based organizations.  Ultimately I ended up in Zimbabwe, where I continued consulting for NGO’s and discovered my entrepreneurial skills and started a small sandwich delivery business.

Extracurricular activities that you are involved with:

In addition to being a Graduate Student Ambassador, I am an active member of various clubs including Net Impact, the Daniels Graduate Women in Business and the International Business Association. I hope to be a part of the leadership teams for these groups in my second year.  I have a Graduate Assistantship position in the International MBA office, where I work on various projects including managing the social media and online presence for the department. I am also a part of Team Daniels, and participate in activities whenever I can.

What brought you to Daniels?

I chose Daniels because of the school’s focus on ethics and sustainability.  Being back in Colorado was also a huge draw; the laid back lifestyle and team based atmosphere that comes with being a member of the Daniels community was also a huge factor in my decision.

A little about your experience at Daniels thus far:

So far my experience has exceeded all my expectations. Daniels is a top-notch, high caliber program with unique opportunities for team building and outside of the classroom experiences.
