Where are you from and what were you doing before you came to Daniels?
I am originally from south Florida, but I moved to Orlando to attend Undergraduate at the University of Central Florida (2010). I graduated with my BS in exercise physiology and worked as a Strength and Conditioning coach for a few private sports companies before deciding to go back to graduate school. Recently, I moved to Denver and am absolutely loving it out here.
Extracurricular activities that you are involved with:
I am a cohort representative for the Graduate Business Student Association, I am involved in a project for the Daniels Consulting Firm, and am also a member of the DU Marketing Association and Daniels Graduate Women in Business. Aside from school activities, I enjoy many outdoor sports that Colorado offers such as running, swimming, skiing, hiking, golf, and triathlons.
What brought you to Daniels?
For many opportunities and reasons, but the top few are the opportunity to live and work in one of my favorite cities, and to attend one of the top business school in the western US. DU also has a very extensive and strong alumni network, which opens doors to networking opportunities and potential employers.
A little about your experience at Daniels thus far:
When I made the decision that I was going to attend DU, I decided I wanted to get involved in as many events and groups that would help enhance my experience and further my career. The situation I ran into is that all the groups I looked into had some potential benefit for me, and the problem I found was that there is simply not enough time in a day to do it all. But, by picking and choosing certain groups that seemed most beneficial, I have already met some amazing people, whom I know will be friends/ coworkers/ references for the rest of my life. All in all, I really enjoy the sense of community and opportunity that the Daniels students and faculty create.
