Case Competition Information
Mission
To explore and implement ethical decision making in the business landscape.
Goal
To further develop individuals' understanding of ethics in the business environment.
Case
The case will focus on the managerial ethics in the corporate environment. The case will be delivered to all teams three weeks prior to the day of the case competition (tba) to all teams.
Case Selection
The case will be selected by the GBSA Selection Committee.
Presentation Guidelines
The presenters are given a maximum of 30 minutes with 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes for Q & A.
Competition Format
The competition will take place in two rounds, a preliminary and final round. Each team will present in one of three presentation venues on Friday morning during the preliminary round. The top four teams from the preliminary round will advance to the final round. The presentation order for the final round will be determined, at random, during the lunch break.
Scoring Guidelines — Teams must
- Present distinctive viewpoints (i.e. community, management, employees, financial, and shareholders)
- Convey an in-depth understanding of the case, the key issues, the possible impacts and future government regulations
- Provide a strategic decision analysis (including financial analysis)
- Present a clear resolution and demonstrate proactive management process(es)
- Demonstrate presentation creativity
Technology
Teams may use their own laptops/technologies; however it must be compatible with the Daniels network. If the team's laptop/technologies do not work with the Daniels network, one will be provided to them.
Additional Considerations
Each team's identity will remain anonymous throughout the case competition to avoid any judging bias. Teams will be permitted to make minor changes to their presentations between rounds, however, the presentation must remain largely unchanged from the preliminary round to the final round.
