Scot Barker Scot Barker graduated from Colorado College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economics. In 1973, upon completion of his Masters of Business from the University of Denver, Scot went into investment banking.
In 1978, Scot and several other partners formed Newman & Associates, a specialty investment bank which was the nation’s largest underwriter of affordable housing debt. He was very involved in housing related issues during that time, and served as President of the National Housing and Rehabilitation Association, as well as, joining the Fannie Mae Housing Impact Advisory Council and other housing related advocacy groups. Barker was President of Newman & Associates from 1985-1998.
Newman & Associates was sold to GMAC Commercial Holding Corp. in 1998. At that time, the firm became the capital markets arm of one of the country’s largest issuers of mortgage debt and mortgage related securities.
In 2003, Scot became President and COO of GMAC Commercial Holding Corp. and helped them grow into the world’s largest commercial mortgage banking firm with operations in Asia, Europe, and North and South America. He remained in that position until GMAC Commercial Holding sold to a group of private equity investors in 2006. Barker retired in 2006 after the sale of GMACCM to a group of private investors. He currently is involved with a number of for-profit and not-for-profit boards and advisory councils.
Steve Betts, is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of LandBank Properties, a firm specializing in redevelopment of environmentally impaired real estate. Steve worked several years in Big Six public accounting prior to working in the financial services, homebuilding, and real estate development industries. He speaks and writes on topics addressing the dynamics of leadership, management, and ethics in today’s business environment. Steve holds Masters and Bachelors degrees from the University of Denver, and is a licensed CPA.
William P. Bishop, Executive Vice President, Benefits Group - Bill Bishop joined Denver Series of Lockton Companies, LLC in January 1997 as a Benefit Group Producer. Since joining Lockton, he has been integral in the growth and development of their Benefit Group in a constantly changing marketplace. Bill is very experienced in all aspects of employee benefits and has over 28 years of insurance knowledge. Prior to working at Lockton, Bill spent 19 years in various sales and sales management positions within the employee benefit arena.
Bill received a Masters of Business Administration degree from University of Denver in 1991. Bill has the following professional designations: Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant, LIMRA Life Institute Fellow, and Registered Representative with the NASD.
Bonnie Blecha is a Senior Vice President with Time Warner Cable and has been with Time Waner Cable or its affiliates for over 25 years. Ms. Blecha started with Time Warner Cable in 1981 and has served in a variety of roles including Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis, Assistant Treasurer in the Time Inc. organization, Assistant Controller at Time Warner Cable , Senior Vice President at TimeWarner Telecom, Vice President of Time Warner Cable Multimedia Ventures, Vice President in Time Warner Cable’s Mergers and Acquisitions area and is most recently a Senior Vice President in Time Warner's Business Affairs department. She has served on several project teams and provided leadership to the teams including a major cost cutting initiative team, a team providing strategic direction to Time Inc, the team which rolled out the VoIP business for TWC, and a team providing insight to Time Inc. regarding new business development and innovation.
Prior to joining Time Warner, Ms. Blecha worked at AT&T for five years in the investment group and the telephone strategy group.
Ms. Blecha has a degree in Math from the University of Arizona and an MBA from the University of Colorado.
Ralph W. Brown, Chief Technology Officer, CableLabs® - Ralph Brown is Chief Technology Officer at Cable Television Laboratories, Inc.’s (CableLabs®). In this position he is responsible for setting the direction for technical projects at CableLabs.
Prior to CableLabs, Mr. Brown worked for Excite@Home as Chief Architect, Set-top Systems where he worked on broadband applications for set-top terminals and entertainment devices. Before joining Excite@Home, he worked for Time Warner Cable as Chief Software Architect in their Advanced Engineering Department where he worked on the Orlando Full Service Network and was a key contributor the Time Warner Cable Pegasus Program. While at Time Warner Cable and Excite@Home, Mr. Brown was also an active participant in the CableLabs OpenCable™ project.
Mr. Brown earned a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His Master’s thesis was in the field of Speech Recognition. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Summa Cum Laude, from North Carolina State University.
CableLabs is a research and development consortium of cable television system operators worldwide. CableLabs plans and funds research and development projects that will help cable companies take advantage of future opportunities and meet future challenges in the cable television industry.
It also transfers relevant technologies to member companies and to the industry. In addition, CableLabs acts as a clearinghouse to provide information on current and prospective technological developments that are of interest to the cable industry. David M. Bruining, Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer - Mr. Bruining joined Pulte Mortgage in October 1992 to start up the Strategic Planning function. He is responsible for the Treasury, Accounting, Strategic Planning, and Facilities functions. Mr. Bruining became Senior Vice President - Finance and Treasurer in November 1997 and Chief Financial Officer in October 1998. Prior to joining Pulte, Mr. Bruining was a Chief Financial Officer at three different commercial banking/thrift holding companies.
Brad Dusto, President West Division, Comcast Cable - Brad Dusto is the President of Comcast Cable’s West Division, responsible for nearly 17,000 employees and serving more than five million customers in Arizona, California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, and Washington state. In this role, Dusto is responsible for all aspects of the Division’s cable operations including network engineering and technical operations, customer care and service, marketing, human resources, finance, and product deployment.
Before this appointment, Dusto served as executive vice president and chief technology officer for Comcast Cable. In this position, Dusto managed the evaluation, development and implementation of new products for Comcast’s cable systems.
Dusto has more than 20 years of experience in the cable industry, and has held various operational and technical positions for several MSOs.
Dusto received his master’s of business administration from New York University and a BSEE from Cornell University. He serves on the board of directors for The Children’s Hospital Foundation and is an active volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. He was recently awarded the Mentor of the Year Award by The Rocky Mountain Chapter of Women in Cable Telecommunications.
Leslie Ellis - Leslie Ellis is an independent technology analyst, author, columnist, and owner of Ellis Edits, Inc., based in Denver, CO. Since September of 2000, she has written and continues to write a bi-weekly column for Multichannel News called “Translation Please,” aimed at demystifying commonly-used cable and broadband technology terms. For Communications Engineering & Design magazine, Ellis serves as a contributing writer/editor.
Ellis wrote the A-to-Z dictionary “Definitive Broadband: Next Generation,” in November, 2005, as a follow-on to “Definitive Broadband,” published in May 2001. She co-authored “The Field Guide to Broadband,” published in October 2002. Additionally, Ellis was a contributing author for the September, 2003 release of “Planet Broadband,” which describes a vision of the future as foretold by cable modem inventor Rouzbeh Yassini. She is currently researching and writing a fourth book, related to the digital transition of February, 2009.
Ms. Ellis is Senior Technology Advisor to the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing, and a Contributing Research Analyst for Bear Stearns Inc. She received the National Cable Television Association’s Vanguard Award for Associates & Affiliates in 2005.
Previously, Ellis was Paul Kagan Associates’ Senior Technology Analyst. Ellis was Senior Technology Editor for Multichannel News/Broadband Week from 1994-1998, and managing editor of Communications Engineering & Design magazine from 1990-1994. She began in the cable industry in 1987 with Telecommunication Products Corp.
Marwan Fawaz is the Chief Technical Officer and Executive Vice President for Charter Communications. He has over 22 years experience in the cable industry encompassing engineering, technical operations and business development. He started his career in the industry as a design engineer at Times Mirror Cable Television where he worked for ten years, later he joined Continental Cablevision as a Vice President of Engineering for the Western region. He also worked at MediaOne as a Vice President of Operations and Engineering, served as an Executive-In-Residence at Pilot House Ventures, managed the Northwest region for Charter Communications as the Regional Vice President, and worked for Vulcan Inc., a Paul Allen company as a Technology Investment Analyst. Prior to Charter Communications he was the CTO for Adelphia Communications.
Marwan holds a BS degree in electrical engineering and MS degree in telecommunications specializing in satellite communications.
Thomas C. Feige has over 29 years of telecommunications experience working for Time Warner Cable and its predecessor companies. After starting in the industry selling cable door to door, Mr. Feige held a variety of management positions of increasing responsibility, including positions of General Manager, Regional Manager, Division Manager and Group Vice President. In 1993, Mr. Feige was appointed President of Time Warner Cable's Full Service Network, leading the world's first interactive television system from its inception. The Full Service Network developed and offered video-on-demand, interactive games, shopping, on-line Internet access and other services through a custom-built prototype digital network. In May of 1998, Mr. Feige was named President of the Los Angeles Division of Time Warner Cable with responsibility for the Company's telecommunications businesses in Orange and Los Angeles Counties. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Adlink from 2000-2003, the world’s largest cable television advertising interconnect. In addition, Mr. Feige served as Chairman of the California Cable & Telecommunications Association and Chairman of the Association’s Law and Public Policy Committee. He also has served as a member of the International Advisory Board for two public/private sector cooperative developments in the Netherlands, the Kenniswijk (knowledge area) project as well as the Nuenen FTTH Broadband project. In April of 2003 he began his current position as President of Time Warner Cable’s National Division. Following completion of the Adelphia acquisition in July 2006 the National Division’s portfolio now includes 106 systems in 20 states. Mr. Feige received a law degree from Gonzaga University as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Kalamazoo College.
Iris Foster, Chief Operating Officer, Dunton Commercial Real Estate Ms. Foster oversees the operation of Dunton Commercial’s entire organization. Ms. Foster has more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience, including retail leasing, financial analysis, real estate acquisition, disposition and mortgage financing. Her operational experience includes hands-on construction management, leasing and property management of office buildings, industrial projects, retail strip centers, power centers and a specialty mall. Her portfolio has included local, regional and national assignments.
Ms. Foster holds a Master of Real Estate and Construction Management degree from the University of Denver, as well as a Bachelor’s of Science degree from the University of Colorado.
Ms. Foster is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Denver, Daniels College of Business, Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management. She was selected in 1999 as a University of Denver Burns Fellow. Prior to joining Dunton Commercial, she was the Asset Project Manager for Consolidated Investment Group.
Richard R. Green is President and CEO of Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs®). In this position he heads the research and development organization responsible for charting the cable television industry’s course in technology. Under Green’s leadership, CableLabs has managed key technology projects that have helped the industry move toward standardization and to achieve interoperability among multiple industry suppliers.
Prior to CableLabs®, Green was a senior vice president of broadcast operations and engineering at the Public Broadcasting Service, where his contributions included construction of national network origination and transmission facilities. For the 1-1/2 years before that, he helped organize and establish the Advanced Television Systems Committee, a multi-industry-supported organization founded to develop voluntary national standards for advanced television. From 1980 to 1983, Green was director of the CBS Advanced Television Technology Laboratory in Stamford, Conn. In addition to his work at CBS in digital television and high-definition TV, Green participated in the international standardization efforts that date from the late 1970s and chaired the committee that eventually developed CCIR (now ITU-R) Recommendation 601, a worldwide television standard for digital signals. He is currently vice chairman of SG9, an ITU-T committee charged with the responsibility of recommending worldwide standards for cable television.
Green is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the CTAM Board of Directors, the IEC (International Engineering Consortium) Board of Directors, The Cable Center Executive Committee, is Chairman of Study Group 9 of the International Telecommunications Union, is on the Advisory Board of the Space Science Institute, also the Advisory Board of the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program, and is a Cable Television Pioneer. He also is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Society of Motion Picture and TV Engineers.
Mike Hayashi, Senior Vice President Advanced Engineering and Technology, Time Warner Cable - Mike Hayashi was appointed Vice President Advanced Engineering and Subscriber Technology for Time Warner Cable in June of 1993. In this role Mike has managed the selection and negotiated the purchase of over 1.5 million digital set-tops per year. He has transformed Time Warner Cable’s advanced services suite to include more than 4 million installed digital units across Time Warner Cable’s footprint. He is currently responsible for all engineering development activities within Time Warner Cable.
Mike joined Time Warner Cable in 1992 as Vice President International Development where he guided external technology partners in advanced technology product development as part of the then newly-formed Time Warner Entertainment unit.
Prior to joining Time Warner Cable Mike held various positions at Scientific-Atlanta in Georgia including Vice President Video Product Line and Marketing Director Interdiction and International markets. There he developed requirements for the first integrated electronic program guide and achieved the #1 market share slot in the UK and the #3 slot in Japan. Mike started his career at Pioneer Communications of America as staff engineer for Warner Cable’s Qube project.
Mike graduated from St Joseph College in Yokohama, Japan in 1974, earned a BS in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College in Claremont, California in 1978 and an MBA from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 1986.
Mike is a member of CableLabs “OpenCable” initiative and Chairman of the “OpenCable” Certification Board.
Mike resides in Evergreen, Colorado with his wife and two daughters.
Jesse King consults in the arenas of leadership, organizational development, and philanthropy, and has assisted numerous corporate, government, and non-profit leaders with projects ranging from strategic planning, to operational reorganization, including capacity assessments, inclusiveness efforts, and organizational cultural projects. In the private sector Mr. King recently assisted Corporate Express in a long range planning process, the articulation of their vision and the creation of a new mission statement. Additionally, for Net2Phone, an emerging telecommunications company, he served on the board of directors and as the chair of the compensation committee and a member of the audit committee for six years. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for REI, Inc., a national outdoor gear and apparel retailer. His work in the non-profit sector includes work for the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Children's Defense Fund, the Black Community Crusade for Children, the Colorado Outward Bound School, and as adjunct staff for Center for Creative Leadership. In the public sector, he currently works as an adjunct trainer with the federal government’s Office of Personnel Management. Most recently Mr. King served as the Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for the Daniels Fund. Prior to that he was at the Rockefeller Foundation where he focused on the development and engagement of promising social entrepreneurs and emerging philanthropists. Mr. King is active in the Colorado community, recently serving on the Denver Public School Commission for High School Reform. Presently he serves on the board of the Denver Foundation, the Funders for Lesbian and Gay Issues, and as the chair of the Chinook Fund. Mr. King is a founding partner and managing director of Fulcrum Advisors, a privately held consulting firm supporting philanthropic advancement and leadership development.
Patricia Lawrence - Patricia E. Lawrence joined RE/MAX International in December 2005 as Vice President of Human Resources. She was named Senior Vice President in April 2007. Lawrence has extensive experience as a human resources professional with numerous HR initiatives and accomplishments to her credit.
Lawrence previously served as Vice President, Global Human Resources for IHS Inc. in Englewood, Colo. She also served five years with Denver-based Teletech Holdings, Inc., as Vice President in the areas of Human Resources and Leadership Development
Her additional human resources experience includes two years with the Walt Disney World Company, and nearly 20 years at Keystone Resort.
Lawrence holds an M.B.A. from the University of Denver as well as an Employee Relations Law Certificate, the SPHR Certification and is a Certified Myers Briggs Facilitator, is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, Rocky Mountain Human Resources Planning Society and is a past president of the Rocky Mountain College Placement Association.
Joe Quane is the retired VP of Strategic Accounts for Scientific Atlanta, A Cisco Company, following a 23-year career. Joe joined SA in 1983 as an Account Manager in the North American Sales Division and has served in a variety of roles including District Manager and Western Regional Manager. He was appointed Vice President, Strategic Accounts in 2001, and served in this position until he retired in November of 2007.
Prior to joining SA he had served a four year stint as a sales rep in the architectural building industry. Previous to that he had a ten year career in secondary education as a teacher and high school basketball coach.
He received a B.S. degree in Secondary Education in 1969 and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology in 1971, both from Northern Illinois University.
Joe resides in Denver, Colorado, with his wife, Sharon. They have two grown sons.
Dave Rhodes, Senior Managing Director, RBC Daniels - Dave Rhodes is a senior member of RBC Daniels' Telecommunications Group, where he provides mergers & acquisitions, capital formation and financial advisory services to domestic and international telecommunications companies ranging from major operators to individual entrepreneurs. Mr. Rhodes has particularly significant experience and expertise in the fixed and mobile wireless, incumbent and competitive wireline and broadband communications industries.
During his tenure, he has been one of the most innovative and successful investment bankers in the telecommunications industry, having completed more than 215 transactions with an aggregate value of approximately $12 billion. Over this time, he has developed extensive senior executive level relationships with a broad range of leading telecommunications owners, operators, investors, lenders and vendors.
In addition, he has received numerous RBC Daniels’ awards for most generated revenue, most completed transactions and teamwork, and has consistently been one of RBC Daniels‘ leading dealmakers.
Mr. Rhodes joined RBC Daniels in 1989 with over eight years of financial and general management experience in the cable television and telecommunications industries. He is a former CPA and a graduate of the University of Denver.

Phil Ruschmeyer, Jr., Senior Vice President, CB Richard Ellis - Phil is in his 28th year in commercial real estate. Phil joined CB Richard Ellis in 2006 as Senior Vice President at the Downtown Office. Phil has completed in excess of 1,200 lease and sale transactions. Prior to joining CB Richard Ellis, Phil spent 21 years at Frederick R. Ross Company where he was the recipient of the Frederick R. Ross Top Producer award more times than any other broker in the 120 year history of the company. As Senior Vice President, Phil specializes in both Tenant representation and Landlord representation providing the highest levels of market, transactional and negotiating expertise on behalf of both. He has been involved in the leasing and sale of property for a wide range of institutional, corporate and private clients across the United States. Phil received his B.A. from the University of Denver with a major in real estate with an emphasis in finance.
Shannon Sisler is the Senior Vice President and Global Head of Human Resources at Janus Capital Group. Janus is a financial services firm headquartered in Denver, CO with over $200 billion of assets under management. Prior to working at Janus, she was the head of global sales operations at TeleTech. Additionally, Mrs. Sisler was a Human Resources director at Level(3) Communications where she led many strategic human capital initiatives. Directly out of undergraduate studies, Mrs. Sisler joined Accenture, formerly Andersen Consulting, where she focused on the human capital transition elements of outsourcing. Mrs. Sisler earned an MBA from the University of Denver and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in finance, from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Stephanie Trotter, Managing Director of Client Relationships, Broadband Insights - Ms. Trotter is a Cable and Telecom Industry Veteran who has worked for industry giants such as Time Warner Cable, Qwest and MCI. She is known for her ability to drive large-scale complex projects that require coordination of cross-departmental and cross-functional project teams. Her unique experience includes driving projects across various business units and across numerous technical departments to provide significant results to the bottom line. Ms. Trotter has driven results-based strategic initiatives focused on company growth, revenues and profits. Ms. Trotter has a demonstrated ability to build peak-performing teams to achieve and exceed cross-functional business objectives. Financial responsibilities have included the successful oversight of capital and operating expense budgets in excess of $20 Million annually.
Key results included successfully driving the integration of Adelphia and Comcast Video, High Speed Data and Voice systems into Time Warner systems. She has also led the implementation of an integrated sales and ordering desktop application for call center agents at major telecom company. The application provided the business the ability to remove over 12 separate applications from the agents desktop and improved end to end process flows for selling and ordering telecom products. This increased revenues within the call centers by $10.4M and provided over $13.7M in agent cost reductions.
James A. Tuell Mr. Tuell has served as a director of Infinity Energy Resources, Inc. since April 2005. Infinity Energy Resources, Inc. is a publicly-traded diversified energy company, employing over 175 employees in oil and gas exploration, development and production and pressure-pumping oilfield services. Prior to its monetization in December 2006, Infinity grew annual oilfield service company revenue to $35 million or 200% as compared to $11.6 million in 2003. Under Mr. Tuell’s direction, Infinity also grew quarterly crude oil and natural gas equivalent production by 93% as compared to the fourth quarter 2003 and annual oil and gas operating income (before non-cash items) from $1 million in 2003 to $4 million in 2006. From 2004 through 2007, Mr. Tuell served Infinity Energy Resources, Inc. in various capacities including, President, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer and as its principal financial and accounting officer. Mr. Tuell also served as President of Infinity Oil & Gas of Wyoming, Inc. and Infinity Oil and Gas of Texas, Inc., wholly-owned subsidiaries of Infinity Energy Resources, Inc. Prior to joining Infinity, Mr. Tuell owned and operated an accounting and finance consultancy which served Infinity and numerous other independent energy companies from 2001 to 2004. From 1996 through 2001, Mr. Tuell served as Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Basin Exploration, Inc. From 1994 through 1996, he served as Vice President and Controller of Gerrity Oil & Gas Corporation. Mr. Tuell was employed by the independent accounting firm of Price Waterhouse from 1981 through 1994, most recently as a Senior Audit Manager. He earned a B.S. in accounting with honors from the University of Denver and is a certified public accountant.
Bill Warga, Director Digital Technology & Standards, Office of the CTO, Comcast Cable Communications - Bill Warga is the Director of Digital Technology & Standards working in the Office of the CTO of Comcast Cable Communications. Bill’s primary responsibilities include all domestic and international standards work for Comcast, focusing mainly on digital video. Bill also works very closely with CableLabs and other MSO’s on industry initiatives such as standards, the One-Way and Two-Way Plug & Play agreements, DCAS, DRM technologies and others. Bill chairs the OpenCable ECR Hardware Working Group and sits on the OpenCable cert board. He is also vice chair of the SCTE Digital Video Subcommittee. In addition to his industry responsibilities, Bill handles Comcast’s memberships in content protection technologies as well as supporting corporate engineering on next generation initiatives such as switched digital broadcasting, OCAP and others.
Mr Warga has over 31 years experience in both the Broadcasting and Cable industries with a focus on Digital Video Technologies and Standards over the last 13 years.
Louis D. Williamson, Vice President, Network Architecture and Advanced Engineering, Time Warner Cable, Advanced Technology Group - Louis graduated from Virginia Tech in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Martin Marietta Aerospace from 1980 to 1983 in the RF systems group were he worked on various projects in the electronic warfare area. He joined the Research and Development group of Time Warner Cable in 1983. He has worked on numerous development projects in his 21 years at Time Warner Cable. Most notable were his pioneering work in the field of fiber optics, which earn him a technical Emmy in 1994 and the Polaris Award in 1998. He was one of the original architects of TWC’s Full Service Network which was the world’s first video on demand system. Recently, Louis has worked on TWC digital video rollout which includes their digital set-tops and VOD. He was the Network Architect for Time Warner’s MystroTV which was developing TV on-demand. He is currently leads the network architecture group which is tasked with defining the future roadmap for TWC’s network infrastructure.
