Ski Race Information

  • At least 4 and up to 6 team members may participate in the ski competition, including at least 2 females.
  • Each participant may ski a total of three runs.

The racing officials will move everyone through the course promptly, therefore it will be necessary to proceed directly back to the stating area quickly after each run to be prepared for the next run.

The winning team will be determined by:

  • The lowest combined time of the top two men, plus the lowest combined time of the top two women.

If a team does not have at least two men and two women the team must accept a time of 50 seconds for the missing team member.

After three runs are completed by each team member, teams are encouraged to enjoy the remainder of the day exploring Vail Mountain Resort.

This year, for the first time ever, we are trying to implement the NASTAR handicap system into our rules; however, if the handicap system is not available to us, we will continue to use the NASTAR course and use the racers’ raw times, as we have in the past.
