Reiman School of Finance
The world is your classroom.
At Daniels, we understand that all business is international, so we offer several opportunities for students to acquire international experience.
Global Opportunity (GO) Program
The Global Opportunity (GO) program at Daniels immerses graduate students in a foreign culture while studying in-depth sustainable development issues. By collaborating on real-world projects for an actual organization, you gain invaluable insight into the community you're helping and the complexity of sustainable development.
Deutsche Bank Microfinance Class
The Daniels College of Business is the exclusive educational partner of Deutsche Bank's Global Commercial Microfinance Consortium, which includes an $80 million microfinance fund. During this two-course sequence, you will interact with Deutsche Bank managers overseeing the fund, perform due diligence for loan requests from international microfinance institutions and visit a microfinance institution in a developing country.
International Electives
Every year, Daniels departments and schools offer electives that provide in-depth study of international issues and travel for firsthand experience.
International Experiences for Undergraduates
Undergraduate business students must be prepared to interact with persons from other cultures and to manage in circumstances where business practices and social conventions are different from the graduate's native country. To meet this requirement, all business majors must fulfill an international experience before they can graduate as a business major. International students meet this requirement by virtue of studying at DU.
Students may meet the international experience through at least one of the following ways:
- Participate in the Cherrington Global Scholars Program.
- Take an approved international experience course.
See the Finance major degree plan for a list of courses.
