2011 Institute Fellows
The Institute for Enterprise Ethics received numerous high quality submissions for
our first year of research and case writing funding. The submissions were reviewed
by a two committees composed of respected members of the Daniels faculty. We are pleased
to announce the following 10 members of the inaugural class of Institute Fellows for 2011.
New Whistleblowing Regulations
On August 12 the new whistlsblowing regulations recently published by the SEC will
go into effect. These new regulations will provide incentives, often called “bounties”
of 10% to 30% to whistle blowers who report directly to the SEC for successful prosecutions
with penalties of over $1M. On the heels of corporations’ mostly quite successful
efforts to implement the whistle blowing provisions of Sarbanes-Oxley over the past
ten years, these new regulations are going to present corporate management with some
important implementation challenges. The Institute for Enterprise Ethics will host
a roundtable discussion about how to best implement these new regulations on September
8 on the DU campus. To prepare for this meeting, we created a website for discussion and an exchange of ideas on these implementation issues.
